“They should have beaten Brighton, Manchester City only have half a first-team squad, I understand that, but I don’t judge a player at that age. We’re talking about 31, 32-year-olds. What happened, I’ve been there and he was unbelievably bad in the first half, everyone was playing fast.”

“I wouldn’t write him off, maybe his role in the team if he comes back, plays two or three games or maybe gets a higher position. The first thing we always say is he can’t run all over the pitch, but when you see him going forward he has the ability to pass and take set-pieces. How many times have you seen him do that?”

“Will Casemiro bring United back to the challenge of City? Of course not. But the deal is done. He’s at the club.”
