Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Trent Alexander-Arnold has made up his mind to join Real Madrid when his contract expires and the ยูฟ่าเบท club are aware of it.
The England international is out of contract at the club until the summer of 2025 and has linke with a move to Los Blancos, with the forward being force off the pitch in each of the first three games of the season, a move that has left him frustrated, although Arne Slot said he was trying to protect the player.
Souness believes that what he has seen could indicate that Trent is determined to move to Madrid and the club knows this, and has picked up on the idea of a substitution when it was unnecessary.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold would be perfect for Real Madrid in terms of the way he plays and he would be an unbelievable player – not to mention how close he is to Jude Bellingham,” Souness told the Three Up Front podcast.
“He could end up at Madrid and that message has sent to Liverpool. I don’t see any reason to take him off for Manchester United unless the club knows he’s going.”
“The club still wants him to stay until the end of the season and he will leave on a free at the end of the season. The message that he has made up his mind has probably sent to the club’s executives. He is out of contract.”
“If you were to leave Liverpool, where else would you go to develop yourself, apart from Real Madrid?”
